Butler County EMS Team Reserve Corps

Butler County EMS and the Butler County Emergency Medical Services Team is currently in the process of forming a new volunteer reserve corps. The basic mission of the reserve corps is to provide valuable support to the EMS system in Butler County through staffing ambulances, providing EMS coverage to large scale events, and supporting the EMS function during times of disaster.
In order to be eligible for membership in the BCEMST Reserve Corps, individuals MUST:
- Be a current member of a BCEMST affiliate department or organization
- Hold a current and valid attendant certification from the Kansas Board of EMS
- Have a valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Successfully complete a criminal background check
In addition, interested individuals should also note:
- All reserve corps attendant positions are strictly volunteer
- All reserve corps members are subject to mandatory meetings and minimum volunteer time expectations
- All reserve corps applicants will be screened with the same critical evaluation criteria as applicants for paid positions with BCEMS
- All reserve corps members are subject to the same personnel policies that govern all employees of Butler County and of Butler County EMS
- All reserve corps applicants must successfully complete an orientation and probationary period before becoming official reserve corps members.
