Clinical Division

The Clinical Division of BCEMS oversees
and coordinates all essential functions related to the provision of medical care by BCEMS.  This includes continually ensuring that every BCEMS attendant provides the highest quality medical care and serves the unique needs of each EMS patient.  In addition, the Clinical Division sustains collaborative relationships with area health care facilities and providers, provides oversight of medical protocols and protocol execution, and oversees the continuing medical education of all EMS providers in Butler County.  The Clinical Division also works with various educational institutions to allow EMS students the opportunity to gain valuable field education experiences through BCEMS.

All total, the Clinical Division oversees the medical care and medical education of the over 60 full-time, part-time, and volunteer employees of BCEMS and the more than 150 certified professional EMST (Emergency Medical Services Team) healthcare providers throughout Butler County.  Butler County EMS holds Continuing Education Program Provider status through the State of Kansas Board of EMS.  Not only do the educators of the BCEMS Clinical Division provide outstanding continuing medical education to all EMS attendants in Butler County,
they also provide initial EMS courses, industry specific safety courses, advanced EMS continuing education, and various specialized courses in emergency medicine and rescue.

The Clinical Division of BCEMS is also committed to the advancement of EMS medical care and EMS education throughout the region and the State of Kansas.  The members of the Clinical Division regularly seek to assist other EMS departments and certified attendants, throughout the state, in any way that they can.
