The Clinical Division of BCEMS oversees and coordinates all essential functions related to the provision of medical care by BCEMS. This includes building collaborative relationships with area health care facilities and providers, oversight of medical protocols and protocol execution, the provision of medical care by BCEMS technicians, initial & continuing medical education, and the medical quality assurance and oversight programs of the department. In addition, the clinical division provides medical and CPR instruction to the public, and works with various educational institutions to allow EMS students the opportunity to gain valuable field education through BCEMS.
In total, the Clinical Division oversees the medical care and medical education of over 60 full-time, part-time, and volunteer employees of Butler County EMS. In addition, the division provides ongoing EMS education for over 15 supporting agencies and over 200 certified attendants that regularly utilize the CE programs offered by BCEMS.
Butler County EMS also holds current Continue Education Program Provider status through the State of Kansas Board of EMS. Not only are we able to coordinate and oversee continuing education programs, but through our staff of Training Officers and Instructor/Coordinators, also offer initial courses of instruction at the First Responder, EMT, and EMT-I levels.
The Clinical Division of BCEMS is also committed to the advancement of EMS medical care and EMS education throughout the region and the State of Kansas. The members of the Clinical Division seeks to assist any other EMS departments and certified attendants, throughout the state, in any way that they can.
